Invictus Gaming (IG) advanced to the knockout stage of the 2026 League of Legends World Championship after defeating North America’s LYON 2-1. This victory marked the first time an LPL team reached the quarterfinals in this tournament cycle and was IG’s first appearance in the knockout stage in seven years.

Following that win, Invictus Gaming secured a spot in the semifinals by defeating Top Esports 3-1 in the quarterfinals held in Allen, Texas. The series featured the return of veteran players TheShy and Rookie. TheShy noted that his return was motivated by a promise to the organization’s CEO to assist the team if they faced difficulties. Invictus Gaming was scheduled to play in the semifinals on November 7.
