Sources: 5. Developments: 2. Investigations have revealed that Iran utilizes a secret network of over 5,000 agencies to import at least $2 billion in military hardware, explosives, and heavy-duty trucks since January 2025. This network, which often uses names implying links to the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, has reportedly evaded Western sanctions and US naval blockades by using land, sea, and air routes. Much of the hardware, including rocket propellants and aircraft components, originates from China, Russia, and Germany. Following these procurement efforts, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force announced it has achieved the localization of aerospace knowledge. Spokesperson Hossein Mohbi stated that Iran has transitioned from an importer of aerospace equipment to an exporter of military technology. Key exports reportedly include the Arman missile, the 358 drone, and the Som Khordad air defense system, with Mohbi noting that Iranian drone designs are being copied globally. ## Timeline ### 2026-11-07: IRGC Aerospace Force claims transition from importer to exporter of aerospace technology The IRGC Aerospace Force spokesperson announced that Iran has transitioned from importing to exporting aerospace technology, citing the Shahed 136 drone and various missile systems as key exports. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/irgc-aerospace-force-claims-transition-from-importer-to-exporter-of-aerospace-technology ### 2026-10-29: Iran military network imported $2 billion in hardware since 2025 A Reuters investigation found that a secret network of 5,000 Iranian agencies imported $2 billion in military hardware, including drone and missile components, since January 2025. 7 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/iran-military-network-imported-2-billion-in-hardware-since-2025 --- Cite as: Iran military technology procurement and export.
