Ireland rugby is facing a significant injury crisis ahead of the November Nations Championship Tests against Argentina, Fiji, and South Africa.

Captain Caelan Doris is expected to remain sidelined until at least the new year. Following a foot injury in June, Doris underwent surgery, but a subsequent knee infection has delayed his recovery. This setback follows his absence from Ireland’s July fixtures. Leinster back-row Jack Conan also remains uncertain following a shoulder injury sustained during a Champions Cup match against Clermont Auvergne.

The list of unavailable players has expanded to include Jack Crowley, Jack Boyle, Paddy McCarthy, Jordan Larmour, Harry Byrne, Iain Henderson, Calvin Nash, and Bryn Ward. Additionally, Jimmy O’Brien is recovering from a concussion, while Sam Prendergast is managing a wrist injury.

Centre Garry Ringrose is the latest major loss, expected to miss the campaign due to a hamstring injury and will remain with Leinster for rehabilitation. Due to these midfield vacancies, Munster’s Dan Kelly, a former Ireland Under-20 international, has emerged as a potential candidate for a senior call-up.
