The municipal election process in Isernia is characterized by shifting alliances and ongoing candidate negotiations. Luca Iorio, a healthcare professional and son of former governor Michele Iorio, announced his candidacy under the civic movement ‘Vento di Cambiamento’. While his candidacy is expected to align with the center-right, support has been mixed; former Campobasso mayor Gigi Brasiello expressed support, and while Fratelli d’Italia has endorsed Iorio, other parties like Lega have continued local consultations.

As tensions rise, the center-left coalition has moved to support the re-election of incumbent Mayor Piero Castrataro, a decision criticized by former council member Francesca Scarabeo. On the center-right, a unified consensus has not yet been reached, as various party leaderships continue to evaluate strategies and profiles for the upcoming vote.
