Sources: 6. Developments: 2. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has introduced several new defense technologies at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) exhibition in Washington, DC. Initially, the company unveiled POINT@AIR, a tactical radar system mounted on a compact, tethered, helium-filled aerostat. Utilizing active electronically scanned array (AESA) technology, the system is designed to provide 360-degree surveillance by elevating radar above terrain and urban obstacles to detect low-flying aerial, maritime, and ground targets. Subsequent announcements detailed a partnership with Palladyne AI to develop autonomous swarm munitions systems. This collaboration aims to integrate IAI’s Harop and Harpy loitering munitions with decentralized autonomy software to coordinate multiple unmanned platforms. Additionally, IAI presented further air defense innovations, including a counter-drone interceptor that operates without an explosive warhead and the Fire Storm 250, a drone equipped with an M250 machine gun developed alongside Sig Sauer. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-12: Israel Aerospace Industries unveils new defense systems and swarm tech partnership Israel Aerospace Industries is expanding its defense portfolio through swarm munitions collaboration with Palladyne AI and the unveiling of new mobile radar and counter-drone systems at the AUSA conference. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/israel-aerospace-industries-unveils-new-defense-systems-and-swarm-tech-partnership ### 2026-10-11: Israel Aerospace Industries unveils POINT@AIR aerostat radar Israel Aerospace Industries unveiled POINT@AIR, a mobile AESA radar mounted on a compact aerostat, designed to provide 360-degree detection of low-altitude threats at the AUSA defense exhibition. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/israel-aerospace-industries-unveils-pointair-aerostat-radar --- Cite as: Israel Aerospace Industries defense technology developments.
