The ISU Short Track World Tour opened in Vancouver at the Pacific Coliseum, marking the first time international short track speed skating has returned to the venue since the 2010 Winter Olympics.

In the men’s 500-metre competition, Jens Van’t Wout of the Netherlands secured first place with a time of 40.560. Maxime Laoun of Montreal earned the silver medal with a time of 40.725, while Furkan Akar of Turkey took third. The final saw the disqualification of South Korea’s Jeongmin Lee following an infraction involving Canadian skater Steven Dubois.

In the women’s 3000m relay, the Canadian team—consisting of Courtney Sarault, Florence Brunelle, Claudia Gagnon, and Danaé Blais—won the gold medal. The Canadians moved from third place to first after a collision between the Italian and Dutch teams. The incident led to the disqualification of the Italian team, resulting in South Korea taking silver and the Netherlands taking bronze.
