The Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) has performed emergency medical transport missions using Gulfstream G-650 aircraft from the 31st Wing.

In mid-September, the Air Force completed a night mission to transfer a 70-year-old patient from Sicily to Lombardy for specialized care. The operation, authorized by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, involved moving the patient from Palermo to Pavia via Milan Linate Airport.

On September 20, a subsequent mission was conducted to transport a 58-year-old man in ‘imminent danger of death’ from Lampedusa to Palermo. This flight was coordinated through the Air Force Command’s Situation Room following a request from the Prefecture of Agrigento.
