In late July 2026, Italy’s Ministry of Health continued its precautionary recall programme. After the 22 July withdrawal of a Listeria-contaminated Ciauscolo salami, two rice products exceeding pesticide limits, and a pasta-and-beans kit, the agency on 24 July reaffirmed the Carnaroli rice recall (lot 13022036) after tests showed tetramethrin above legal limits, and added a fresh-egg recall (lot 1ISTAT1IT040VR006) flagged for possible Salmonella enteritidis.

On 27 July, major retailers including Coop, Iper, and Mercatò voluntarily withdrew AIA and Selex branded egg packs from stores in Umbria and Piemonte after producer Agricola Tre Valli Società Cooperativa detected Salmonella enteritidis. The recall expanded on 4 August when the Ministry issued an alert for the same egg lot (1ISTAT1IT040VR006) sold under the Delizie del Sole brand at Eurospin supermarkets, extending the action nationwide.

On 19 August, the Ministry issued further recalls due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. These included 200-gram containers of ‘Insalate già pronte’ rice salad (lot 26016) produced by La Sorgente Srl, and ‘Mon Sir’ brand Brie cheese (lot ZUAD2) manufactured by the French company Paturages Comtois. Consumers were advised to return these products to the point of sale.
