Lega Serie A is evaluating potential restructuring of the Coppa Italia format for the 2027/28 season. Officials are considering three different team structures—ranging from the current 44-team model to a 72-team version—and the possible return of a group stage to increase viewer engagement and television rights value.

Concurrently, schedules and matchups have been finalized for various lower-tier competitions. The Coppa Italia Serie C quarter-finals are set for December 2026, while the Coppa Italia Dilettanti semifinals will consist of two-legged matches in November and December 2026. Additionally, the Veneto Regional Promotion Trophy has announced its quarter-final pairings for mid-November 2026.
