Various Italian culinary awards have recognized excellence in the nation’s gastronomy sector.

In late September, the Falstaff Restaurant Guide Italia 2027 named Piazza Duomo in Alba, led by chef Enrico Crippa, as Restaurant of the Year. The establishment also received the regional award for best restaurant in Piemonte. Other regional honors included Cacciatori Cartosio in Alessandria for best trattoria, Sestogusto in Turin for best pizzeria, and the Premio Leggenda for chef Luisa Valazza at Al Sorriso.

Following this, the ninth Food and Travel Italia Awards recognized Don Alfonso 1890 as Restaurant of the Year via reader votes. Mauro Uliassi was also honored as Chef of the Year during a ceremony held in Presicce-Acquarica, Puglia.
