In one instance, Lebanese artist Hashem Hashem utilized music and poetry in ‘The Sound That Remains’ to commemorate those displaced by war in Beirut, using symbolic elements to explore memory and loss. Additionally, the documentary ‘L’ultimo abbraccio’ examined the use of theater by adolescents in a mental health center to navigate identity and fragility. Other productions focus on specific social traumas. In Novara, the play ‘Lei’ explores themes of consent and sexual violence through a woman’s long-term reflection on past experiences. Meanwhile, in Cassano allo Ionio, the production ‘5 Minuti’ uses a family narrative to confront themes of abandonment, accompanied by discussions involving psychologists to foster community reflection. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-23: Theatrical performances in Italy address social and psychological themes Theatrical productions in Novara and Cassano allo Ionio will address complex themes including sexual violence, consent, and family abandonment. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/theatrical-performances-in-italy-address-social-and-psychological-themes ### 2026-10-20: Cultural performances explore themes of displacement and mental health in Italy Theatrical works in Italy are tackling heavy themes, from the trauma of Lebanese displacement in 'The Sound That Remains' to adolescent mental health in the documentary 'L’ultimo abbraccio'. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/cultural-performances-explore-themes-of-displacement-and-mental-health-in-italy --- Cite as: Italian theatrical explorations of social and psychological-.
