The ‘Iter Musicum Europae’ national tour, organized by the Timișoara Baroque Festival Association, is bringing Renaissance and early Baroque music to 12 historical locations across Romania. The tour, which includes cities such as Cluj-Napoca, Brașov, Sibiu, Alba Iulia, and Timișoara, features musicians from Romania and Hungary performing 16th and 17th-century works.

Performances utilize period-accurate instruments, including the lute, viola da gamba, recorder, and a reconstructed 1605-model virginal. The project seeks to connect musical performance with architectural heritage by hosting concerts in museums, fortresses, and churches. 

As the tour progresses, events have included performances at the Făgăraș Citadel. The tour coincides with other classical music programming in the country, such as the ‘Gala echinocțiului’ vocal-symphonic concert organized by the Pitești Philharmonic.
