The political federation Izquierda Unida (IU) has engaged in various criticisms and political ruptures across different Spanish regions.

In Andalusia, IU general coordinator Toni Valero criticized the regional government for its handling of migrant minors, labeling the situation an ‘authentic barbarity’ and accusing the People's Party and Vox coalition of using immigration to distract from social issues.
