Real Madrid is considering the return of defender Jacobo Ramón from Como 1907, potentially as early as the summer of 2027. The 21-year-old Spanish center-back has established himself as a key player in Serie A and Champions League competition under manager Cesc Fàbregas. Real Madrid holds a 50% sell-on clause and a buy-back option, with reports suggesting the clause could be activated for a fee between €8 million and €10 million to bolster the squad's defense. The move is viewed as a strategic plan to potentially secure a long-term successor to Antonio Rüdiger.

As interest in the player grows, Premier League clubs Chelsea and Arsenal have also been linked to Ramón. Since his permanent move to Como in 2025, he has played 43 official matches and secured a central role in the defense.

Despite Real Madrid's ability to re-acquire him through 2028, Ramón has reportedly declined a potential move back to the Bernabeu. He prefers to remain a key player at Como, expressing concerns that joining Real Madrid would limit his playing time and relegate him to a fourth or fifth central defender role. The defender is reportedly using the experience of Endrick as a cautionary tale regarding the challenges of professional development due to intense competition within the Real Madrid squad.

By October 2026, Real Madrid’s defensive situation has become critical. Due to a combination of injuries and suspensions affecting players such as Raúl Asencio, Dean Huijsen, Ibrahima Konaté, and Éder Militão, Antonio Rüdiger is reportedly the only specialist center-back available. Amidst this crisis, Ramón has continued to prioritize his professional development at Como, where he recently scored a decisive goal in a 4-1 Champions League victory against Manchester United.
