Various political figures have expressed interest in seeking legislative seats for Jalisco District 1 during the 2027 electoral process.

Armando Pérez Sánchez, an academic and politician with ties to the Partido del Trabajo (PT) and the ‘Sigamos Haciendo Historia’ coalition, is considering a run for the district seat. 

Similarly, Mario Camarena González Rubio, the former mayor of Etzatlán and a current official within the Jalisco Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER), has also signaled interest in the same legislative seat. As of late September 2026, these aspirations remain unofficial as formal candidacy registrations and internal party processes have not yet concluded.
