The state of Jalisco is implementing various infrastructure and technological initiatives focused on connectivity, security, and water management.

In administrative developments, the Jalisco State Congress agreed to migrate its internet services to ‘Red Jalisco’, a state-managed high-speed public infrastructure intended to save the legislature approximately 500,000 pesos annually. Concurrently, officials addressed an outstanding debt of roughly 259,000 pesos owed to the water utility SIAPA.

Governor Pablo Lemus Navarro announced a 6 billion peso investment to strengthen the C5 command center using artificial intelligence and facial recognition to assist in locating missing persons. The state is also collaborating with Google on an application to detect forced recruitment patterns on social media.

On the water management front, the state is seeking support for strategic projects totaling 22.5 billion pesos. These include the 10 billion peso Chapala-Guadalajara Substitute Aqueduct, which aims to reduce water loss from leaks and lower electricity costs, alongside the modernization of Water Treatment Plant 1 and works at the El Zapotillo Dam.
