IDW Publishing and Ian Fleming Publications have announced a partnership to launch a new James Bond comic book series. Written by Grant Morrison, the debut six-part adventure is titled ‘Sunbreaker’. The series is intended to place the character in a contemporary setting, exploring modern themes such as rogue AI, fake news, desert warfare, and billionaire villains.

Separately, director Danny Boyle addressed his departure from a potential James Bond film project in 2018. Speaking at the BFI London Film Festival, Boyle noted that producers ‘just got cold feet’ regarding a script he had developed with collaborator John Hodge, leading him to exit the project rather than deviate from his original vision.
