Star Mark Co., Ltd. is executing its ‘Ken Gin Project,’ a series of craft gin releases designed to showcase regional Japanese specialties.

The 23rd installment, ‘Fukuoka Prefecture Gin by agataJapan,’ utilizes Yame tea from Fukuoka Prefecture. Developed in collaboration with Takahashi Shoten, the spirit incorporates a base of ‘Sanaburi Shochu’ and tea-extracted aroma water.

The 24th installment, ‘Fukushima Gin,’ focuses on upcycling ‘Akatsuki’ peaches from Fukushima Prefecture. To reduce food loss, the project uses ripe peaches that are considered non-standard due to size, shape, or weather damage. These peaches are processed by Momo ga aru Co., Ltd. and used in production by Tateyama Brewing Co., Ltd.

Both products utilize crowdfunding via CAMPFIRE prior to general sales. The project’s long-term objective is to eventually blend gins from all 47 prefectures to create a ‘Japan Gin.’
