In late July and August 2026, various initiatives were held in Japan to promote pharmacy education and recognize excellence in the pharmaceutical sector.

Educational outreach included a student research presentation conference in Toyama involving students from multiple prefectures, as well as a ‘Pharmacy Fest’ in Kyoto. The Kyoto event, organized by Yu Holdings, allowed approximately 700 parent-child groups to participate in mock dispensing and medication counseling exercises.

Additionally, the Japan Wellness Professional Association and YAKUNOWA announced the relaunch of the ‘9th Everyone's Choice Pharmacy Award 2026’. This national competition aims to honor pharmacies across Japan for their innovation in patient care and community contribution, with a final competition scheduled for November in Tokyo.
