The wellness and fitness sector in Japan continues to diversify through specialized training, new product launches, and facility expansions. Building on previous efforts in specialized programs and personal training, the market is increasingly addressing lifestyle-related challenges such as sedentary behavior and “health fatigue.”

In the beverage and home fitness categories, Nestlé Japan is set to release its “Adult Health Plan” series on October 1, 2026, featuring protein and GABA-infused lattes and iron-enriched Milo to help consumers establish healthy habits. To combat desk-bound lifestyles, ONO Trading is promoting the Xiser Pro Trainer, a professional-grade stepper for home use. Expanding on home fitness options, Xcountry’s brand ROOM FIT has released the ROOMSTRIDE, a foldable cross-trainer designed to reduce its width from 121cm to approximately 55cm for space efficiency.

Physical facility growth remains steady. LAVA International has opened a ‘Rintosull’ machine pilates studio at the Apita Nagoya Kita shopping center, utilizing reformers and large screens. New pilates offerings have also emerged in Saitama with Pilates. Hidamari, and in Hiratsuka, Kanagawa, where La pilates launched a women-only studio combining osteopathic care with machine pilates. Additionally, REDY’S GYM, a women-only body makeup studio, announced a three-month intensive training program supervised by trainer KEN.

Digital and competitive wellness initiatives are also expanding. Stadium Co., Ltd. is launching ‘Karada Kenkyujo oNeself+’ on the FANTS platform, an online salon led by yoga instructor Naomi Narita focusing on self-care and nutrition for adult women. Meanwhile, World Fit Co., Ltd. is moving forward with the ‘BEYOND CUP 2026’ body makeup competition, with events scheduled for November 7 in Osaka and November 15 in Tokyo, featuring categories such as physique, bikini, and ‘before and after’ assessments.
