The Bălți Clinical Hospital in Moldova is set to acquire a high-performance ultrasound machine through a grant from the Government of Japan. The funding, totaling approximately $95,673, is provided via the ‘Kusanone’ grant program.

Japanese Ambassador Kazuyuki Takeuchi and interim hospital director Ludmila Capcelea signed the financing contract on September 25. The initiative aims to improve cardiovascular services in northern Moldova, reducing the need for patients to travel to Chișinău for examinations. Capcelea noted that the equipment will enable medical professionals to establish diagnoses “more rapidly and accurately.”
