Japanese beverage companies are expanding their presence in the domestic wine market through specialized regional releases.

Suntory announced the September 8 launch of ‘SUNTORY FROM FARM THE Koshu Terroir Ensemble 2025’, a limited-edition white wine blending Koshu grape spirits from four regions in Nagano and Yamanashi Prefectures. The company aims to elevate ‘Japanese wine’ to global standards, planning to triple its Koshu grape harvest by 2035.

Following this, Hakutsuru Sake Brewing announced the September 11 release of ‘Kobe Reserva’, a premium series using 100% Kobe-grown grapes. The inaugural vintage includes Cabernet Sauvignon from the Osawa district and Riesling from the Oshibedani district, the latter utilizing vines over 40 years old.
