Sources: 16. Developments: 4. Jean-Michel Jarre is preparing to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his electronic music album, Oxygène. Originally released in 1976, the album is credited with transitioning electronic music from experimental niches to a global audience and has sold over 18 million copies. To mark the milestone, a new series of physical and digital reissues is scheduled for release via BMG on November 20, 2026. These editions will feature a remastering of the original 1976 stereo mix created from the original analog tapes to preserve its unique character. Available formats include various vinyl options—such as 180-gram black vinyl, limited edition colored eco-vinyl, and half-speed-mastered vinyl engraved by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios—as well as CD and a special Blu-ray mediabook featuring the album in Dolby Atmos for the first time. Expanding on these celebrations, Jarre has announced the ‘OXYGENE & BEYOND’ international tour, set to begin in Europe in autumn 2027. The tour will feature material from a new album expected in spring 2027 and includes a first leg of 17 concerts across 11 European cities, such as Amsterdam, Paris, and Manchester. The tour is expected to expand globally in 2028, with European stops including Katowice, Łódź, Gdańsk, Cluj, Budapest, Berlin, Prague, Brussels, London, and Barcelona. In conjunction with the anniversary, Thames & Hudson will publish ‘Machines by Jean-Michel Jarre: A History of Electronic Music’ on November 5, exploring the evolution of electronic instruments. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-25: Jean-Michel Jarre announces Oxygene & Beyond world tour for 2027 Jean-Michel Jarre has announced the “Oxygene & Beyond” tour for 2027, celebrating his iconic album and debuting new music across Europe and eventually worldwide. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/jean-michel-jarre-announces-oxygene-beyond-world-tour-for-2027 ### 2026-10-21: Jean-Michel Jarre announces Oxygene & Beyond international tour Jean-Michel Jarre has announced his ‘Oxygene & Beyond’ tour for 2027, celebrating 50 years of his iconic album and debuting music from his upcoming 2027 release. 10 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/jean-michel-jarre-announces-oxygene-beyond-international-tour ### 2026-10-08: Jean-Michel Jarre's Oxygène marks 50 years of electronic music influence Jean-Michel Jarre’s influential electronic album Oxygène approaches its 50th anniversary, marking a legacy of over 18 million copies sold and a pivotal shift for electronic music. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/jean-michel-jarres-oxygne-marks-50-years-of-electronic-music-influence ### 2026-10-06: Jean-Michel Jarre announces 50th anniversary reissue of Oxygène Jean-Michel Jarre is releasing a 50th-anniversary edition of his landmark album Oxygène in 2026, featuring remasters from original tapes, Dolby Atmos, and various vinyl and Blu-ray formats. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/jean-michel-jarre-announces-50th-anniversary-reissue-of-oxygne --- Cite as: Jean-Michel Jarre Oxygène 50th anniversary.
