Professional wrestler Jeff Cobb has addressed his April 2025 departure from New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), stating that contractual obligations with WWE forced him to leave the promotion before completing the Wrestling Dontaku 2025 tour.

Cobb has been involved in a rivalry with Callum Newman, a tension expected to culminate at NJPW Destruction in Kobe. Following these developments, Cobb was announced as the mystery partner “X” for Yuto-Ice and OSKAR in a challenge for the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship against defending champions Will Ospreay, HENARE, and Great-O-Khan, scheduled for October 12 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo.
