Singer Jesse McCartney and his wife, Katie Peterson, announced on October 1, 2026, that they are expecting their second child, due in March 2027. The announcement included family photos featuring their 16-month-old son, Archer.

By October 11, the couple revealed they are expecting a daughter. McCartney shared that he is ‘cautiously optimistic’ about the pregnancy due to the ‘traumatic’ experience of their first child’s birth. Their son, Archer, was born three months premature in May 2025 and required 70 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). McCartney noted that the experience of being a NICU parent can cause ‘a little PTSD.’
