Sources: 3. Developments: 2. Fox News host Jesse Watters has addressed the Texas Senate race and Republican election strategies, specifically regarding candidate Ken Paxton. Initially, Watters suggested that Republican voters might need to “compartmentalize” when supporting candidates like Paxton. He compared the act of voting for him to listening to the music of Michael Jackson, implying that voters may choose to ignore personal flaws or “peccadilloes” to support a specific cause or talent. He noted that such a strategy involves prioritizing performance over personal charisma or controversy. In subsequent commentary, Watters shifted to a more critical tone regarding Paxton, noting a “whiff of corruption” surrounding the candidate despite his history as attorney general. He cited various personal and legal controversies that may make Paxton a difficult candidate for some voters. Additionally, Watters discussed broader GOP mobilization tactics, suggesting that highlighting the perceived dangers of Democratic policies—a tactic he termed “fear porn”—is a necessary method to motivate voter turnout. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-16: Jesse Watters discusses Texas Senate race and GOP election strategy Fox News host Jesse Watters discussed the Texas Senate race, criticizing Republican candidate Ken Paxton while suggesting that Republicans must use “fear porn” to motivate voters against Democrats. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/jesse-watters-discusses-texas-senate-race-and-gop-election-strategy ### 2026-10-05: Jesse Watters compares voting for Ken Paxton to listening to Michael Jackson Fox News host Jesse Watters told viewers they must “compartmentalize” when voting for Republican candidates like Ken Paxton, comparing the act to enjoying Michael Jackson’s music despite his controversies. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/jesse-watters-compares-voting-for-ken-paxton-to-listening-to-michael-jackson --- Cite as: Jesse Watters commentary on Ken Paxton and GOP strategy.
