Former President Joe Biden was presented with the Sonia Schorr Sloan Service Award by Planned Parenthood of Delaware during the organization’s ‘Chocolate and Champagne’ fundraising gala in Claymont.

In his remarks, Biden addressed the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, which overturned Roe v. Wade. He defended his presidential record, noting he signed executive orders to protect access to reproductive healthcare, including emergency medical care. He urged supporters not to ‘give up’ in the fight to keep abortion legal, stating that the late Sloan would have responded to the ruling with action rather than fear.
