Actor John Cena has addressed the future of his role as Peacemaker within the evolving DC Universe (DCU). During an interview on the ‘Happy, Sad, Confused’ podcast, Cena indicated that his return to the character depends on the scheduling priorities of DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn.

Cena explained that leadership must prioritize foundational characters such as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman while building out the broader franchise. He compared the current situation to Gunn having a ‘whole box of toys’ and needing to address the most significant assets first.

Despite shifts in the creative landscape following the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery merger and the formation of Skydance Corp., Cena reaffirmed his commitment to the role. He stated he remains ready to reprise the character of Christopher Smith whenever requested, expressing respect for the current creative direction.
