John Lennon’s career and legacy are defined by his transition from The Beatles to a successful solo career and his role as a peace activist. His solo discography includes seven albums, such as ‘Imagine’ and ‘Double Fantasy’, and several high-charting singles including ‘Whatever Gets You Thru the Night’ and ‘(Just Like) Starting Over’.

Lennon’s public life was marked by significant scrutiny, notably following 1966 comments regarding the popularity of The Beatles compared to religious figures. While he later clarified these remarks during a Chicago press conference, the period caused substantial tension and public backlash.

His enduring influence is frequently commemorated through tributes involving figures like Yoko Ono and organizations such as Amnesty International. These commemorations often link his musical anthems, such as ‘Give Peace a Chance’, to modern global issues.
