John Lennon has expressed significant disdain for the Beatles song ‘Run For Your Life’ from the 1965 album ‘Rubber Soul’. Lennon has described the track as his ‘least favorite Beatles song’ and a ‘throwaway’ that he ‘just knocked off’ during a period when the band was transitioning toward a more complex folk sound.

The song’s lyrics, which include threats of violence against a partner, were inspired by the Elvis Presley song ‘Baby, Let’s Play House’. Lennon specifically noted being inspired by the line, ‘I’d rather see you dead, little girl, than to be with another man.’ While Lennon felt the track lacked significance, George Harrison was noted to be a fan of the song.
