UFC fighter Jon Jones has been involved in public discussions regarding his protege, Olympic wrestler Gable Steveson, following Steveson’s 12-second knockout loss to Sean Sharaf at UFC 331.

Initially, the situation involved a dispute with Colby Covington, who suggested Steveson should distance himself from Jones. Covington characterized Jones as an “evil person” with “bad energy,” claiming Jones’s influence contributed to Steveson’s loss. Jones dismissed these claims, accusing Covington of being “obsessed” with him.

Jones later expressed support for Steveson, describing him as an “extraordinary athlete” who remains in the “right headspace to rebound” as he returns to training.
