In late September 2026, the district launched a management plan to convert 290 resident suggestions into policy, identifying 245 actionable tasks. These projects include immediate improvements to roads, sewage, and parks, as well as long-term urban planning. Specific regional efforts involve developing childcare facilities in Hyehwa-dong, cracking down on origin labeling fraud in Changsin 2-dong, and expanding public restroom support in Sajik-dong. Concurrently, the district is enhancing management of the Jongno 3-ga street food districts following the area being named a top neighborhood by Time Out. Rather than removing stalls, the district is adopting a ‘win-win street’ model for 77 participating businesses. This includes enforcing operating hours, designating smoking areas, increasing sanitation personnel, and providing subsidies for private restroom renovations to improve cleanliness and pedestrian safety. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-29: Jongno-gu to enhance management of Jongno 3-ga street food districts Jongno-gu is strengthening management of the Jongno 3-ga street food districts following its ranking as a top global neighborhood, focusing on sanitation, pedestrian safety, and regulated outdoor business. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/jongno-gu-to-enhance-management-of-jongno-3-ga-street-food-districts ### 2026-09-20: Jongno-gu to implement 245 resident-proposed policy projects Jongno-gu is implementing 245 resident-proposed projects, including urban improvements, childcare facilities, and fraud crackdowns, following a comprehensive review of 290 local suggestions. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/jongno-gu-to-implement-245-resident-proposed-policy-projects --- Cite as: Jongno-gu local administration and urban management.
