Cuba is hosting the Jornada de la Cultura Cubana from October 10 to October 20, 2026. The nationwide program features decentralized artistic presentations, audiovisual projections, and cultural expeditions designed to reach urban and rural communities, including local institutions and homes for the elderly.

The festivities commemorate several milestones, most notably the 50th anniversary of the Ministry of Culture and the centennial of Fidel Castro. Other honors include the 40th anniversary of the Hermanos Saíz Association (AHS), the 50th anniversary of the University of the Arts, and the 22nd anniversary of the José Martí Art Instructors Brigade.

Regional activities have expanded across various municipalities. In Camajuaní, the program includes parades, musical performances by the municipal band, and community-based artistic exhibitions involving all popular councils, with a closing gala set for October 20. In Cienfuegos, the schedule features literary portals, film screenings, musical concerts, and the XVIII Provincial Salon of Artistic Craftsmanship, concluding on October 20 with choral performances of the national anthem.

In San José de las Lajas, Mayabeque, ceremonies honored radio and television director Ulises Hernández Expósito and Grupo de Teatro Tacón director Julio Pedro Coto. In Isla de la Juventud, tributes were paid to visual artist Antonio Lewis Belgrove and radio director Carlos Ramón Casasayas Calafell. Additionally, the Julio Antonio Mella municipal library hosted events for the Day of Race and Cultural Diversity and commemorated the 156th anniversary of José Martí’s arrival in the region.
