England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI tri-series in Pakistan due to a hamstring injury sustained during a match against Sri Lanka at Headingley. While Buttler focuses on recovery, there is no definitive timeline for his return, and his absence may impact England’s potential series against Australia.

Following the injury news, England announced a 16-man squad for the tri-series, which will also feature Sri Lanka. The squad will be captained by Harry Brook. In addition to Buttler, Jofra Archer has been rested for workload management.

However, the squad sees the return of Adil Rashid and Sam Curran, who have recovered from hand and groin injuries. The selection also includes the recall of Glamorgan leg-spinner Mason Crane, marking his first international appearance since 2018, alongside inclusions of Sonny Baker and Henry Crocombe. Jordan Cox is expected to fill the vacancy in both batting and wicketkeeping duties.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore, with the final set for October 31 at Gaddafi Stadium.
