The rock band Journey is experiencing internal instability regarding its lineup and future operations during its ‘Final Frontier Tour’. In early September 2026, frontman Arnel Pineda suggested a possible transition, stating, “Now I can step back,” following a performance by a Steve Perry lookalike. While guitarist Neal Schon had previously indicated the tour might extend through 2027, keyboardist Jonathan Cain noted that the band was debating whether to conclude the tour in November or extend it.

By late September, the situation escalated with the confirmation that Jonathan Cain is stepping away from the group. Additionally, guitarist Neal Schon faces a September 24 deadline to file a statement of use or extension for the ‘Journey Beyond’ trademark. Failure to meet this deadline could result in the trademark application being considered ‘abandoned’, adding further uncertainty to the potential offshoot group.
