Joy Behar, co-host of ‘The View’, has been absent from recent episodes following an on-set injury. A representative reported that Behar ‘caught a heel backstage’, resulting in a dislocated shoulder. While her shoulder was not broken and has been put back in place, the injury has caused her to miss several broadcasts.

On October 7, Behar’s co-hosts celebrated her 84th birthday on air. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg shared a message from Behar, who joked about her recovery. While previous reports suggested a return date of October 19, Behar did not appear in the Monday episode.

Following her extended absence, reports have emerged suggesting that ABC executives are encouraging Behar to retire. Insiders claim network officials are concerned she may become a ‘liability’ due to mobility issues and the risk of future falls, noting that staff are worried about her safety backstage. While ABC is allegedly encouraging Behar to retire ‘gracefully’, sources indicate she has not expressed a desire to step down voluntarily and maintains she is still capable of performing her duties.
