In late September 2026, football manager Juan Carlos Osorio held a four-hour meeting with the board of Jaguares de Córdoba in Montería. The discussions focused on a potential head coaching role to help the club address a sporting crisis and avoid relegation following the departure of Hubert Bodhert.

By mid-October, Osorio emerged as a candidate for a different position at Junior de Barranquilla. The club is evaluating him alongside Reinaldo Rueda to fill the head coaching vacancy left by Sebastián Viera. Former striker Iván René Valenciano has endorsed both candidates due to their international experience as the club prepares for upcoming commitments, including the Copa Libertadores.
