Following the suspension of the Jujuy branch of Argentina’s Justicialist Party (PJ) internal elections by the National Electoral Chamber on 26 August, Federal Judge Esteban Eduardo Hansen has upheld the exclusion of the “Celeste y Blanca” List No. 2.

In a ruling following a detailed review, the court determined that the group’s attempts to correct filing errors exceeded the scope of permitted rectifications. The judge found that rather than fixing omissions, the group attempted to present an entirely new set of candidates, which was not authorized by the 12-hour exceptional window granted for corrections. 

The investigation revealed significant irregularities in the filings, including candidates lacking required party seniority or affiliation, duplicate candidacies for both primary and substitute roles, and missing proxy signatures. Furthermore, the court noted incorrect identification numbers and a failure to provide necessary physical documentation from several departments, including San Pedro, Ledesma, and Santa Catalina.
