# Jumanji: Open World film rollout

Sony Pictures has begun the promotional rollout for the final installment of the modern Jumanji trilogy. Initial trailers for the film, also referred to as ‘Jumanji: The Great Escape’, showcase the returning cast of Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan. The plot marks a departure from previous entries by depicting the game world leaking into reality, causing jungle animals and avatars to invade city streets, restaurants, and homes.

Directed by Jake Kasdan, the film introduces a ‘demo mode’ element where characters experience malfunctioning abilities. The production, which took place in Los Angeles between November 2025 and March 2026, features additional cast members including Nick Jonas and Awkwafina, and includes a tribute to the 1995 original. 

Following a schedule shift, the film is set for a Christmas Day release on 25 December 2026, with an international opening in Chile scheduled for 31 December 2026.
