The JustWatch Group has announced the upcoming launch of JustWatch TV, a new streaming service integrated into its existing app and website. Announced at the Toronto International Film Festival’s content marketplace, the service is scheduled to debut in October across 12 markets, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand.

The Berlin-based company is expanding its business model from a discovery tool used by 50 million monthly users into a direct competitor for viewing time. The platform will employ a multi-tiered model featuring free ad-supported viewing (AVOD), transactional rental options (TVOD), and an ad-free subscription tier. JustWatch intends to use its consumer demand intelligence and user insights to curate a catalog featuring both popular titles and harder-to-find content.

Initial content partners for the launch include Paramount, New Regency, Fremantle, Bleecker Street, and Vortex Media. The service will be integrated into the current JustWatch ecosystem rather than being released as a standalone application, and it is also designed to route users to third-party streaming services.
