In mid‑July 2026 JYSK announced a €60 million programme to open 120 new outlets in Spain and Portugal over four years, about 30 stores per year, with most openings in Spain (80‑100) and a 50 % increase in Portugal. The plan is expected to create roughly 1,200 direct jobs. On 15 July the retailer opened a store in El Ejido, Andalusia, bringing its Spanish footprint to 189 stores; the 1,300 m² shop offers around 2,000 product references and integrates online ordering, home delivery and click‑and‑collect.

Two days later JYSK reiterated the investment details, noting it already operates close to 230 stores across the Iberian market since entering Spain in 2009 and Portugal in 2016, and that each new format will suit city centres, retail parks and medium‑sized towns.

On 31 July the chain opened its 39th Portuguese outlet in Covilhã’s City Center, featuring the “3.0” concept with room‑by‑room displays and mix‑and‑match areas. The launch included promotions of up to 75 % off more than 2,000 items and welcome gifts for purchases over €20, and was presented as a boost to local employment.
