Organized by the Muratpaşa Municipality, the event has brought together representatives from 20 cities across 15 countries. A central component of the festival is the ‘Living Kitchens of Ancient Cities’ forum, where international delegations present unique culinary traditions. To bolster this interest, the municipality is developing the ‘Gold Town Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate Program’ to certify local dishes. Mayor Ümit Uysal has emphasized that global tourism is shifting toward specialized interests such as gastronomy, archaeology, and ethnography, and noted the festival’s role in strengthening international cultural and commercial ties. Expanding beyond culinary and historical showcases, the festival also includes athletic activities. The municipality recently organized its second orienteering competition within the historic district. Starting from the Üç Kapılar landmark, over 800 participants across four categories—families, youth, stars, and adults—navigated 35 target points through the labyrinthine streets of the old city. Varol Tanğ, Muratpaşa Municipality Youth and Sports Manager, reported that participation increased significantly from approximately 384 people last year to 815 this year. Looking ahead, the municipality expressed ambitions to host the World Masters Orienteering Championship in 2028, an event expected to attract roughly 15,000 participants. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-11: Antalya hosts orienteering competition in Kaleiçi Over 800 participants competed in an orienteering race through the historic streets of Kaleiçi, Antalya, as part of the 11th International Kaleiçi Old Town Festival. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/antalya-hosts-orienteering-competition-in-kaleii ### 2026-10-09: Kaleiçi Old Town Festival celebrates culture and gastronomy in Antalya The 11th International Kaleiçi Old Town Festival in Antalya features cultural parades, gastronomy forums, and international delegations to promote local heritage and year-round tourism. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kaleii-old-town-festival-begins-in-antalya ### 2026-10-07: Kaleiçi Old Town Festival to host 110 events in Antalya The 11th International Kaleiçi Old Town Festival will be held in Antalya, Turkey, from October 8-11, featuring 110 events and a major gastronomy forum involving 15 countries. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kaleii-old-town-festival-to-host-110-events-in-antalya ### 2026-10-03: Kaleiçi Old Town Festival hosts international delegations in Antalya The 11th International Kaleiçi Old Town Festival in Antalya hosts delegations from 15 countries and 20 cities to promote cultural and tourism cooperation. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kaleii-old-town-festival-hosts-international-delegations-in-antalya --- Cite as: Kaleiçi Old Town Festival continues in Antalya.
