Sources: 24. Developments: 2. Former Vice President Kamala Harris has advised Democratic congressional leaders against pursuing a third impeachment of President Donald Trump if they regain control of the House of Representatives following the November 3 midterm elections. During a campaign appearance in Georgia, Harris characterized the political situation under Trump as a “tyranny” and urged voters to protect democratic institutions. She argued that impeachment is not a productive use of limited party resources because the necessary Senate votes for conviction are not present, suggesting instead that the party focus on investigations, executive accountability, and policy implementation. These views were echoed by hosts of the television program “The View,” who expressed agreement with Harris’s strategic stance. The hosts noted that House leadership has prioritized a legislative agenda involving tax credits, stock trade regulations, and ICE limitations over impeachment proceedings. They emphasized the need for the Democratic Party to remain realistic about what is achievable through the legislative process. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-30: The View hosts support Kamala Harris on avoiding Trump impeachment Co-hosts of “The View” agreed with Kamala Harris that Democrats should prioritize policy and investigations over impeaching Donald Trump if they regain congressional control. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/the-view-hosts-support-kamala-harris-on-avoiding-trump-impeachment ### 2026-10-28: Kamala Harris campaigns in Georgia and advises against Trump impeachment Kamala Harris campaigned in Georgia, warning against Trump's “tyranny” while advising Democrats to prioritize investigations over impeachment if they win back Congress. 22 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kamala-harris-advises-democrats-against-pursuing-trump-impeachment --- Cite as: Kamala Harris Democratic strategy debate.
