Sources: 61. Developments: 7. The Kansas City Chiefs' undefeated start to the 2026 season ended following a 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. The defeat brings the Chiefs' record to 5-1. Seattle's defense played a decisive role in the victory, holding the Chiefs without a touchdown and preventing them from reaching the red zone, a feat described as occurring “for the first time in Patrick Mahomes' career.” The Seahawks' pass rush also successfully neutralized the Chiefs' primary offensive threat, Kenneth Walker III, limiting the NFL's rushing leader to just 36 yards on 14 carries. This performance marked Walker's first return to Seattle since leaving the team in the offseason. Offensively, Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold completed 20 of 28 passes for 257 yards and a touchdown, while wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba recorded nine receptions for 150 yards and a score. Emanuel Wilson secured the win with a 21-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, totaling 100 yards on 24 carries. Patrick Mahomes struggled against the Seattle defense, finishing with 165 passing yards, one interception, and a 58.3 passer rating. The Chiefs' only points came from a 50-yard field goal by Harrison Butker; Butker also missed two other field goal attempts. Following the game, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid addressed the team's performance, stating, “All three phases, we struggled. We’ve gotta do better. That’s my responsibility.” The win moves the Seahawks to a 4-3 record, snapping a two-game losing streak. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-25: Seattle Seahawks defeat Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 20-3, ending the Chiefs' undefeated start to the season behind a dominant defensive performance and standout play from Jaxon Smith-Njigba. 47 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kansas-city-chiefs-face-seattle-seahawks-in-week-7-matchup ### 2026-10-23: NFL: Chiefs and Seahawks face off in Week 7 Sunday Night Football The undefeated Kansas City Chiefs visit the Seattle Seahawks for a Week 7 Sunday Night Football matchup featuring Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III's return to Seattle. 14 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/seattle-seahawks-prepare-for-matchup-against-kenneth-walker-iii-and-chiefs ### 2026-10-21: Seattle Seahawks did not offer Kenneth Walker III a contract The Seattle Seahawks did not make a formal contract offer to running back Kenneth Walker III before he joined the Kansas City Chiefs, where he currently leads the NFL in rushing yards. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/seattle-seahawks-did-not-offer-kenneth-walker-iii-a-contract ### 2026-10-19: Kenneth Walker III on pace for NFL records and MVP consideration Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III is on pace to break NFL rushing records and is receiving MVP endorsements following a dominant five-game start to his season. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kenneth-walker-iii-on-pace-for-nfl-records-and-mvp-consideration ### 2026-10-12: Kenneth Walker leads undefeated Kansas City Chiefs offense Kansas City Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker has recorded 537 rushing yards and six touchdowns in four games, leading the undefeated team and outperforming his former Seattle Seahawks. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kenneth-walker-leads-undefeated-kansas-city-chiefs-offense ### 2026-10-08: Kenneth Walker leads NFL in rushing during dominant Chiefs start Running back Kenneth Walker III leads the NFL in rushing yards through four games, fueling the Kansas City Chiefs' undefeated 4-0 start to the season. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kenneth-walker-leads-nfl-in-rushing-during-dominant-chiefs-start ### 2026-09-25: Kansas City Chiefs look to manage Kenneth Walker III workload The Kansas City Chiefs plan to manage Kenneth Walker III's heavy workload by increasing playing time for rookie Emmett Johnson following Walker's league-leading start to the season. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kansas-city-chiefs-look-to-manage-kenneth-walker-iii-workload --- Cite as: Seahawks snap Chiefs' undefeated streak.
