The Kansas City Current secured a 4-1 victory against Denver Summit FC at CPKC Stadium. While Denver took an early lead through Lindsey Heaps, Kansas City responded with a dominant performance featuring a hat trick by Haley Hopkins and a goal from Temwa Chawinga. Denver goalkeeper Abby Smith saved a penalty kick during the first half.

This win extended the Current’s regular-season home unbeaten streak to 30 games and moved the team back into playoff contention. Despite the offensive success, the team has faced defensive difficulties this season, conceding 37 goals in 26 games compared to 13 goals in the same number of matches during the 2025 season. The team is now preparing to host Bay FC, a match that will also see the return of former defensive player Claire Hutton.
