Karls Erlebnis-Dorf has expanded its presence with the opening of its eighth location in Oberhausen, Germany. This site, which opened in July 2026 at the Westfield Centro, marks the chain’s first expansion into North Rhine-Westphalia and its first location situated within a major city. The Oberhausen park integrates a leisure park, farm shop, and craft business, featuring attractions such as a manufacturing market decorated with antique coffee pots. The site has seen significant visitor numbers, including 12,000 people on its opening day, though it has faced challenges with high visitor volume and traffic congestion.

The company is pursuing further growth with plans for three additional German locations. A site in Wernigerode is slated for a spring 2028 opening, preceded by a pop-up festival. In Plech, the company is investing approximately 30 million euros to develop the former Fränkisches Wunderland site, while a Bispingen location aims for a 2027 opening. Internationally, demolition work has begun for a new site in Oxnard, California.

As part of its seasonal operations, the brand continues to offer themed merchandise. During the autumn ‘Grusel-Oktober’ season, which features pumpkin displays and pop-up festivals, the Karls Bande Erlebnis-Shop has seen the return of popular strawberry-design items, including ‘Erdbeertraum’ spread and glittery thermal mugs.
