The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has initiated the 2026 academic admission and recruitment processes. On August 17, the KEA released the 2026 exam calendar for various recruitment roles and published mock seat allotment results for UGCET and UGNEET medical and dental courses.

By August 21, the release of the KCET Round 2 seat allotment for engineering, pharmacy, and allied health sciences was delayed due to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) not yet releasing final Round 1 seat allotments.

On September 4, the KEA announced the provisional results for the third and final round of seat allotment for KCET 2026 engineering and other CET courses. For the first time, the authority introduced a ‘Choice-4’ exit option. Candidates newly allotted a seat in this third round may select Choice-4 to exit the counselling process by 5 pm on September 5, though this is unavailable to those who participated in the third round solely for upgradation from a second-round seat. KEA officials warned that candidates must take admission once final results are announced; those who decline an allotted engineering seat after final results may face a penalty equivalent to five times the prescribed fee and potential legal action. Vacated seats from Choice-4 selections will be returned to the pool for a rerun of the third-round allotment.

Following the KCET updates, the KEA released documents for the 2026 postgraduate admission cycle. On September 9, the authority issued a draft seat matrix for MBA, MCA, and M. Tech/M.E. courses following the Karnataka PGCET results. Additionally, the KEA published a provisional fee structure for PG Dental 2026, covering 259 course-college combinations across government, private, NRI, and management categories.
