Former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt is reportedly shopping a book proposal to publishers regarding her 19-month tenure in the Trump administration. The memoir is expected to provide behind-the-scenes insights into White House press operations and private interactions involving President Donald Trump.

Leavitt has already shared specific anecdotes, such as a private lunch where Trump reportedly criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s immigration and border policies. These public comments have drawn criticism from some political allies; for instance, Newsmax host Greg Kelly accused Leavitt of “breaching trust” by discussing private presidential meetings.

Leavitt stepped down from her position in August to spend more time with her family following the birth of her second child. She has since joined Fox News as a contributor.

Following her departure, President Trump has officially announced the appointment of Katie Zacharia as the new White House Press Secretary. Zacharia, a conservative commentator, attorney, and senior communications adviser for Trump Media & Technology Group, succeeds Leavitt. Trump praised Zacharia as a “loyal and brilliant supporter” with an “unblemished record,” highlighting her involvement in his political campaigns within key swing states.

Zacharia’s professional background includes serving as a spokesperson and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs at the Department of Homeland Security in early 2026, as well as working in the White House Office of Political Affairs during the George W. Bush administration. She is also associated with the conservative organization Fix California. Upon her appointment, Zacharia stated that serving the administration is the “honor of a lifetime.”
