# Kasper Dolberg knee injury and surgery > Live situation record from CLSTR: https://clstr.news/situations/kasper-dolberg-knee-injury-and-surgery > Updated: 2026-10-07T17:05:00.000Z. Sources: 10. Developments: 2. Denmark national team striker Kasper Dolberg sustained a significant knee injury during an international period. Denmark coach Brian Riemer described the situation as a ‘drama,’ noting that Dolberg’s knee ‘was essentially completely out.’ Following the injury, the 29-year-old Ajax forward underwent successful anterior cruciate ligament surgery in Copenhagen on Tuesday, October 6. While Dolberg expressed satisfaction with the surgical outcome, the injury is considered a major setback. He is expected to miss the remainder of the season, with a typical recovery period for this type of injury lasting between six and nine months. Dolberg will remain in Denmark for the initial stage of his recovery before returning to Amsterdam to complete his rehabilitation at Ajax. Because the injury occurred during international duty, Ajax may be eligible for compensation through the FIFA Club Protection Programme, which covers a portion of a player’s base salary during periods of temporary total disability sustained while on national team duty. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-07: Kasper Dolberg to miss remainder of season after ACL injury Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg faces a long-term absence after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL sustained while training with the Denmark national team. 10 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kasper-dolberg-undergoes-successful-knee-surgery ### 2026-09-29: Kasper Dolberg suffers concerning knee injury with Denmark Denmark coach Brian Riemer has raised concerns over Kasper Dolberg's knee injury, describing the situation as a 'drama' for the national team following the Ajax striker's recent injury. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/kasper-dolberg-suffers-concerning-knee-injury-with-denmark --- Cite as: Kasper Dolberg knee injury and surgery.
