The Katona József National Theatre in Kecskemét celebrated its 130th anniversary in October 2026. The festivities included the premiere of a production of A. A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh, directed by Péter Cseke. This performance coincided with the centenary of the original book’s publication.

The theatrical production featured an ensemble cast and a stage set designed by Anna Molnár, shaped like a large open storybook to emphasize themes of friendship and reading.

In addition to the play, the anniversary was marked by a folk music program titled ‘Amit örökül kaptunk’ (What We Inherited). This event featured various performers and combined musical pieces with personal stories about cultural heritage, concluding with communal singing and a traditional dance house.
